Township Clerk

Bradley S. Smith resides in the Township of Tekonsha.  He lives along the St. Joseph River on M-60 with Stacey, one dog and two cats.  It is a perfect place for Nate, Brad's son, and Brad to pursue their interest in hunting and fishing.  Brad has been amazed at the helpfulness, friendliness and caring of the residents of Tekonsha.  It truly is a wonderful community and one Brad is pleased to be part of.

Brad welcomes anyone needing to contact him to call the office any time.  If he isn't in he will return the calls as soon as possible.  He also welcomes calls on his personal phone for burning permits, hall rental availability or simply an opportunity to help one of our residents with their questions or concerns.  It is not uncommon to find Brad at the Township Office in the evening or on a weekend, meeting with Township Residents, helping them with their questions or concerns.  Brad believes our small community of friends is just that and one of the ways to assure it continues, is to have the Township officials available to the community when it is convenient for the resident.

Township Treasurer

Pam is married to Leo Herman. Pam is a life long resident of Tekonsha and enjoys the small community environment.  She commends the many citizens who are involved in not only caring for the community itself with groups such as the Historical Committee, Garden Club & Research Club, but also in taking care of the needs of each other on a more personal level with the food pantry, run by the 3 churches and the Lion's Club providing eye glasses to people in need.  Pam's experience with the Township is invaluable.  Her attention to detail and assisting Tekonsha residents at tax time as well as throughout the year with their questions and concerns is appreciated by all.

Pam welcomes hearing from anyone in the community and can be reached via :

Township Trustee

Frank Thomas III was born and raised in Tekonsha.   Franks retirement from truck driving is much like many in our community, more work!  Frank has a full time farm and enjoys farming with his sons, Rusty and Brad and his wife Marcia.  Frank's daughter Amy is also a Tekonsha resident.  One of the things Frank enjoys most of all is his time shared with his three grandchildren.  He is always there to lend a helping hand to our residents and the township itself.  His active participation as Township Trustee, a member of both the Planning Commission and Tekonsha Fire Board, keeps him busy.  He placed all the signs for our cemeteries after fixing all the posts to support them.  His time and effort donated to our township is endless and one of the many persons we are all truly grateful to for their dedication to the well being of Tekonsha!  Frank is always willing to listen and help our township residents with questions and concerns.  He may be reached by calling the township hall or his home at 517-765-2117

Township Trustee

Eric "Rick" Phelps is another of the special people in our township.  He is there to help, to guide, to listen, an all around asset to our township as a whole and each and every one of our residents individually.  Rick and his wife have been in the Tekonsha area their entire life.  They have two children Jamie Thomas, married to Brad, and Eric "Pud" married to Stacey.  Rick is always available to help with concerns that arise in the operation of not only our township but our fire department (Rick serves on the Tekonsha Fire Board) as well.  We are very fortunate that Rick has chosen to play such an instrumental part making certain our community runs smoothly, efficiently and effectively for all.  He is very proud of our school and the students that attend.  He further enjoys the small, quiet village with businesses that readily know who you are by name when you walk through the door.  Rick believes that it doesn't take much more than a walk down main street to see how great our little village is and know immediately that it's a perfect place to open a business, if someone is searching for just the right spot.  Rick may be reached by phoning our township hall or his home at 517-767-3211
